The 1997 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight
The Oldsmobile Eighty Eight was Oldsmobile’s top-selling car for the best part of 50 years. The 1997 model belonged to the 10th generation of the Oldsmobile 88. The 1997 Oldsmobile Eighty Eight’s engine had an increased output of 170 hp. The 1997 model was the first fully modernized version of this line of automobiles. The badges of all the models, except the Regency, were modified to the 1997-2004 Oldsmobile Rocket Oval logo, inspired by the Aurora’s logo. Prior to 1989, the cars were known as Oldsmobile 88s, with the name being changed to spell ‘Eighty Eight’ in 1989.
